Kelsey Hill
Media/Intern Director

I believe that, in trying times, we need fresh perspectives. That's why I'm running for City Council this year; I'm ready and willing to provide leadership in bringing forward-thinking, innovative strategies to address the compounding effects of public health and economic crises we now face.

My family struggled with housing insecurity in the fallout of the 2008 economic recession. I see the similarities in this crisis and will lead with the lessons learned from my difficult upbringing: compassion, determination, and optimism despite adversity. I’m committed to ensuring a just recovery from COVID-19, access to truly affordable housing, improved community safety, and bigger strides toward environmental justice.

In my four years at the Romero Institute, I’ve designed and directed an internship program for Cabrillo and UCSC students. I’ve furthered climate action in our community and, on the national level, stood alongside Indigenous communities in their fight for self-determination including during the movement at Standing Rock. As a community-engaged activist, I’ve supported local efforts for public banking, environmental policy, and racial justice.

Our community can get through this, together. I’d be honored to receive your vote. For information and endorsements, please go to kelseyhill4council.com.
